The translations are coloured by two years of conversation with editor and designer Will Holder — taking into account ambiguity, errors, and a [un]conscious preference for “quasi-”, “although…”, ”and so on”. Repetition, alliteration and other material, musical and metrical devices [“every election perpetuates this sincerely fragile momentum”] are deliberately placed on the page, designed for memory and remembrance.
