Not For A Want Of Trying is a graphic monograph by graphic designer Bart Luijten in which he brings together his three decades of work. The origins of his work lie in his youth, when he was strongly influenced by fresh punk and new wave soundtracks. Rooted in graphic novels, early 1990s zines, Dadaism and post-punk, Luijten developed his own unique visual language. In doing so, he followed the evolution from literal cut-and-paste to the introduction of the first Macs, sparked a wave of independent magazines, all the way to today.
